The Philippines is renowned for having no shortage of amazing world-class talent, especially in the performing arts. However, it’s also a hard truth that no matter how talented one is, without the right platform and agency, the potential is wasted.

New York-headquartered entertainment company LX2 Entertainment Corp., now with its satellite office in Manila, aims to change that by giving Filipino talents not only the platform but also the training they need to go international.

LX2 Entertainment is currently helmed by two individuals: Loie Magan, chief executive officer for both New York and Manila offices; and Albert Andrada, president for the Manila outpost. Liaising with each other, they will be searching the globe for the next big thing to propel to stardom.

“We aim to discover raw talents and train them to become stars. We want Filipinos to shine internationally,” said Andrada. For the company, it’s not enough to be just talented. He or she needs to be coachable, too.

Andrada, a prominent figure in the realm of fashion, is no stranger to grooming young talent. Prior to his stint with LX2, he has coached the likes of Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach and fashion model and Asia’s Next Top Model alum Jodilly Pendre.

Last Jan. 18, LX2 launched its first wave of online auditions, calling on talented young Filipinos (at least 18 years old) who can sing, dance or act (or all three) to be the next addition to its growing roster of artists. Applicants are not limited to Philippine residents as internationally based Filipinos can apply as well. Group acts are welcome too.

Those who make the cut of the online auditions will be called back for live auditions (with safety protocols, of course). After passing live auditions, they will undergo the artist development training program under the tutelage of Andrada, along with music producers, voice coaches and other industry experts.

“There are so many talented Filipinos that are underrepresented. This is why we’re doing this. We also don’t want the entertainment industry to die down during this pandemic. The world needs to smile again,” said Magan.

Online auditions will run until Feb. 14. For the complete details of the auditions and list of requirements, visit www.lx2entertainment.com. Follow its social media channels for updates.
